Medicare Supplement Plan C includes coverage for the basic benefits, which include hospitalization, medical expenses, and blood coverage for the initial three pints of annually. Hospitalization includes coverage for your Part A coinsurance and the next year (365 days) after your Medicare service runs out. Medical expenses includes pays coinsurance for Medicare Part B, generally 20 percent of Medicare accepted costs, or copayments for hospital outpatient services.
Plan C coverage does not include excess charges from Medicare Part B. This means if a doctor charges more than the Medicare approved amount, you may be responsible for paying for some of those charges yourself. The doctor can charge you up to 15% of the amount not covered by Medicare. While some plans cover this, Plan C does not.
